1
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfy and fabulous! For our wedding, feel free to wear what makes you feel beautiful and confident. It'll be toasty during the day in July, but it might cool down a bit at night, so maybe bring a light jacket. Oh, and dancing shoes are a must!
A little note about the dress code in Jordan:
Jordan is a welcoming and modern country, but it's always a good idea to dress modestly in public spaces. Please keep in mind the local customs, especially when it comes to evening attire. Long pants / long dress is encouraged.
2
How do I get there?
If you don’t have a car, don’t worry—Uber or Careem are the way to go! They’re affordable and very available. It is also a good option to use to reach the city from the airport. Even thought airport taxis are available and basically the same price.
Want to explore Jordan?
If you’re planning to travel around the country, renting a car is recommended! It’s affordable and gives you the flexibility to discover the stunning sights of Jordan at your own pace.
Let us know if you want to rent a car, we have a great local contact to do so.
Please take into account that public transport is basically nonexistent in the country, do not rely on it.
3
Is Mimi really the most beautiful and best cat?
Yes.
4
Can I bring my kids?
Kids are absolutely welcome! While this is an adult-focused celebration, we completely understand if you’d like to bring your little ones along. Jordan and Jordanians are incredibly welcoming to kids, so feel free to bring them along for the fun. Just keep in mind, this is a dance-all-night kind of event, so if they’re ready to join in, bring them! If not, they can enjoy the food and festivities in their own way.
5
Can I drown in the Dead Sea?
It’s practically impossible to drown in the Dead Sea—you’ll float like a cork! The high salt content makes the water so dense that you can’t help but stay on top. But a little warning: while it’ll leave your skin feeling softer than a baby’s, beware of getting water in your eyes or any cuts—they can sting like crazy! So just relax, float, and enjoy the experience!
6
What’s Wadi Rum like?
Wadi Rum is like stepping onto another planet! Known as the Valley of the Moon, it’s a stunning desert landscape with towering rock formations and vast sand dunes. You can go on a jeep tour, ride camels, or even spend a night under the stars in a Bedouin camp. Just don’t forget your sunscreen—the sun here is no joke!
7
Will I get attacked by a shark at the Red Sea?
Don’t worry, no sharks attacking here! But you will find Nemo and his extended family swimming happily around you. The Red Sea is famous for its crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and amazing marine life. So grab your snorkel gear and get ready to meet a whole underwater world—just don’t try to bring Nemo home with you!
8
What currency do I need for Jordan?
In Jordan, the currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). You’ll find plenty of exchange spots in the city, but avoid exchanging money at the airport—the rates aren’t the best. Most places accept Visa or MasterCard, but you’ll definitely need cash for small cafés, taxis, and street food. So, make sure to keep some JOD handy for those delicious quick bites!
9
Will they understand me?
Yes, absolutely! English is widely spoken in Jordan, so you won’t have any trouble communicating. But if you want to impress the locals, here are a few Arabic phrases to get you started:
-
Marhaba (Hello)
-
Shukran (Thank you)
-
Ahlan wa sahlan (Welcome to Jordan!)
Everyone will greet you with a warm “Ahlan wa sahlan”—a friendly way of saying welcome to their beautiful country!
10
How can I stay connected?
The best way to stay connected is by buying a SIM card from the company Zain or Orange at the airport for around 15 JOD. You’ll get plenty of data to use during your trip. Zain and Orange kiosks are available in the arrivals hall, and their packages offer great value for tourists! Note: WhatsApp calls and TikTok may not work, but everything else should run smoothly!
