Dead Sea

Where to stay?

What to do?

The hotels

At the Dead Sea, your best option is to stay in one of the luxurious 5-star hotels located directly on the waterfront. These hotels offer affordable prices, especially if you’re sharing a room. They all boast similar facilities, including a private beach where you can experience the unique sensation of floating in the salty waters and apply the therapeutic mud.

Each hotel features a variety of bars and restaurants, as well as a relaxing spa to unwind and rejuvenate. It’s definitely worth spending a night here to watch the stunning sunset over Palestine on the other side of the sea—an unforgettable experience.

We recommend Marriott, Kempinski, or Mövenpick.

There is also a small mall with some restaurants close to the hotels called Samarah. It is also possible to eat / drink there with a bit more affordable prices than the hotels.

Swimming and Mud in the Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is famous for its unique ability to allow you to float effortlessly due to its high salt content. Take a dip and experience the sensation of weightlessness, a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Don’t forget to cover yourself in the therapeutic black mud, known for its skin benefits—it's both fun and incredibly good for your skin! After relaxing in the salty water, you'll feel rejuvenated and refreshed.

Note: If you plan to bathe in the Dead Sea, it's best to do so from the hotels, as they offer private access to the water. If you don't wish to stay overnight, you can contact the hotels for a day pass. We recommend refraining from bathing in the public areas.

Wadi Mujib

Known as Jordan’s Grand Canyon, Wadi Mujib is a stunning gorge that offers incredible hiking and adventure opportunities. You can trek through the riverbed, wade through water, and scramble over rocks to reach waterfalls.Wadi Mujib offers a thrilling experience surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. It’s perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Note: You will be walking inside a river, and at times, the water may cover you, requiring you to swim. It’s important to wear closed shoes, as sandals are not recommended for safety and comfort. For the hike, we recommend wearing a t-shirt and shorts—you can easily change at the entrance before starting your adventure.

Salt Beaches

The Salt Beach at the southern Dead Sea is known for its striking salt formations along the shoreline. The high salinity creates unique white crusts of salt, making the area visually stunning. Visitors can walk along the beach, admire the salt structures, and float in the super-salty water. It’s a great spot for photos and enjoying the natural beauty.

Baptism Site

The Baptism Site of Jesus, also known as Bethany Beyond the Jordan, is one of the most significant religious sites in Jordan. Located on the Jordan River, it is believed to be the place where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist. Visitors can explore the sacred ruins, visit the baptismal pools, and walk along the riverbank.
